War-date Union soldier’s Autograph Letter Signed by Llewellyn Jones, Co. G 13th Mass Infantry and Co. H. 39th Mass Infantry, 6pp. octavo, Headquarters 13th Reg. Mass Vols, Darnstown, Maryland, September 22, 1861and reads in part: “...Day before yesterday a rebel officer was captured near here and important documents found in his possession showing that the rebels intended to cross and attack us at Harper’s Ferry, Conrad’s Ferry and another place near here simultaneously...Company C Captain Kurtz stationed at Frederick City arrested 23 of the Secession Representatives of the Maryland Legislature who were about to meet and in all probably would have passed the secession ordinance...” Fine condition
