Autograph Letter Signed “H.J. Fuller” 4pp. octavo, “Oberlin Church” lettersheet, Oberlin, Ohio, December 4, 1859, two days after the hanging of John Brown, and reads in part: “...On Friday last the time when old John Brown died, a martyr to the cause of freedom the Bell on the chapel was tolled for one hour and in the eve there was a meeting of the citizens at the chapel to express their sympathies in regard to the matter...” Fine condition.
