This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 5/21/2021
to include: Glass negative, 5" x 4", of the last photograph of Gen. Grant, four days before death, by John G. Gilman. The glass is cracked. However, in the negative, upper right side is "COPYRIGHT" likely making this the original negative. ... plus a second 5" x 4", glass negative titled in the negative "Grant's Funeral Train". We were unable to find any published photos of this image. However, there is a similar sketch of the scene by a West Point cadet done as the train went through West Point NY.
