Tintype, 1-1/4” x1-3/4”, in Brass Frame with Hanger shows Butler chest-up, slightly left facing. The identification is on the reverse, “Through Baltimore, Maj. General BENJ. F. BUTLER, Of Massachusettes.” Butler occupied the secession leaning city of Baltimore in April of 1861.
