A great war-date pro-Lincoln presidential campaign Charles Magnus multi-colored penny song sheet, copyright by James D. Gay, 1864, 1p. 8vo., entitled: "Abe Lincoln's Union Wagon", reading, in part: "The Eagle of Columbia, in majesty and pride still soars aloft in glory the traitors have defied. The flag we dearly cherish-the emblem of our will…the war screech of that eagle is heard from shore to shore…King Cotton may be master of those who bend the knee, but he cannot rule a people, who ever will be free…brave Hancock's in the Wagon, Meade and Warren by his side while Grant…drives the horses to give the boys a ride…Sherman is not idle and Sheridan so true. We all go in for Lincoln, McClellan will not do…Old Jeff he built a wagon, he did not mak it strong for Lee has played the Devil…U. S. Grant drives our wagon, and has driven it through the storm…we'll show them in November that McClellan's not our man…none can smash this wagon it's powerful and strong…it was built by General Washington…its wheels were made by freeman and patriots push it 'long…we'll vote for honest Abraham who kept free so long…". Near fine.
