A complete and authentic issue of the Columbian Centinel & Massachusetts Federalist, July 18, 1804, 4pp., disbound VG. The interior pages are draped in mourning rules with column headline “Deep Lamentation” continuing with “Died in New York on Thursday last, General ALEXANDER HAMILTON of a wound which he received on the morning of the previous day, in a duel with Col. Burr. ...” The reporting continues for two columns with a wood-cut coffin titled THE CORPSE and showing “AH” on the front. This is in the Order of procession of the Hamilton funeral.
