Merrill of New Hampshire, includes five ornate printed commissions, dated 1837-1845 appointing General Merrill up the chain of command from Captain to Brig Gen’l in the New Hampshire Militia. ...plus great speech by Merrill, c. 1845, to his “Fellow Soldiers” with excellent patriotic wording encouringing the people to vote against the new militia bill submitted to the state legislature of New Hampshire.
