6"L x 4-1/2"T x 2-1/4"W Made in Castleford, England for the American market. On the front is a gold-colored relief portrait of General Washington in uniform with "GW" below. On the reverse is an American eagle taken from the design of U.S. silver dollars minted from 1798-1803. The lack of any memorial motif suggests that this design was conceived prior to Washington's death in 1799. It is decorated with blue trim. The creamer is, for some reason, much less often seen than that the sugar bowl of this design, especially in this superb condition. Length 5.75". Height 5".
