This unique item is a 1-1/2” diameter x 3/4” deep, two-piece tin package with a replica of the Columbian Half Dollar stamped on the lid. The embossed words, “Columbian Gum, Trade Mark 1892. Very good. The World's Columbian Exposition was held in 1892 in Chicago, Illinois to celebrate the 400th Anniversary of Christopher Columbus' "discovery" of the New World. To commemorate the occasion, the U.S. Mint struck special Half Dollars in 1892.
