McKee, Post Commander, Department of Ohio, Grand Army of the Republic, Sidney, Ohio, September 24, 1881, 1pp. octavo, with bold black mourning border, and GAR medal at top left, it reads “Recognizing the calamity that has befallen the Nation in the death of Comrade James A. Garfield, President of the United States, and for the purpose of expressing our sorrow and sympathy, the Commander requests...September 25, 1881,...appropriate exercises be held in commemmoration of the day set apart for the funeral of Comrade Garfield...” Fine condition.
