HELM, Benjamin (1767-1858) was Hardin County's first surveyor and was a member of the first town board. He served from 1800 to 1817 as Hardin County Court Clerk, Clerk of the Quarter Session Court, and Clerk of the Circuit Court. Helm was the senior partner of the Helm & Green mercantile company and was chosen as the first president of the Union Bank of Elizabethtown. Autograph Document Signed “Ben Helm” 1pp. octavo, Hardin County, Kentucky, September 4, 1811, pertaining to legal matters. Very good condition.
