Oval carte de visite photograph of the unfortunate Alfred A. Stratton, Co. G, 147th N.Y. Vols. who lost both of his arms in August, 1863 in action at Petersburg. Stratton is shown standing in a three-quarter length view in his uniform with a medal pinned to his chest. No backstamp. Some water stains to the mount, small tear intrudes on image at left.
