Bill of Sale issued on the letterhead of W.F. Youngblood, Toyah, Texas, February 10, 1886, 2pp., VG. This bill of sale listes “75 Calves Branded KC; 1 Colt branded KC; 22 Beef cattle sold ....” The community began as a trading post for the large area ranches. In the early 1880s, before the railroad reached Reeves County, W. T. Youngblood and his family moved to the area in a covered wagon with a stock of general merchandise. Youngblood began his business by visiting each ranch as a peddler. At the time he was also building a one-room store of adobe.
