The Solnhofen beds lie in the German state of Bavaria (Bayern), halfway between Nuremberg (Nürnberg) and Munich (München) and were originally quarried as a source of lithographic limestone. The Jura Museum situated in Eichstätt, Germany has an extensive exhibit of Jurassic fossils from the quarries of Solnhofen. A pair of fish fossils from Solnhofen beds to include: a 5” x 3” on 8” x 8” limestone cast. ... plus, 2-1/2” x 1” on 4-1/2” x 3-1/2”
