Pocket Watch with Patriotic Hand-Engraved Image of General George Washington made by Thomas Cooper of London, 13-Jewel with "Patent Lever," Fine. This decorative patriotic c. 1820 vintage glass-faced Pocket Watch has Roman numerals on the face and a second hand at bottom made by the firm of Thomas Cooper, London. This 13-Jewel Watch featured a "Patent Lever." Its reverse side of the case has been nicely Hand-Engraved with the Patriotic image of General George Washington, shown standing in his military uniform with his Sword in scabbard at his side, surrounded with other designs no doubt added some time after manufacture by an unknown artist. A small key that appears to be original comes with this piece, the outer covers are slightly worn from actual wear from use. All of the original gold color plating is intact. This Watch also appears to function properly (at least it did for the few minutes we watched it). A great Patriotic engraved Pocket Watch for the collectors of Washingtonia.
