Pair of 18th century Colonial Era, Hand-Wrought Iron Decorative Door Locks, each accompanied by the original “Bird Head” style clasps, Very Fine. An attractive early Colonial era Pair of antique Iron Door Locks of simple period design, with figural clasps shaped into curved in the styled design of “birds heads”. The smaller of the two locks measures 3.5” square; with the clasp inserted, it measures 5.25” x 3.5.” The larger lock measures 4.25” square; with the extended clasp inserted it measures 7” x 4.25.” Both locks feature an expected natural even light rust heavy patina. Both locks work as the bolt still slides through the carriage. The larger lock is missing a small chip out of the lower left corner as shown, and a period replacement attachment hole was made. It is scarce to find these original early locks with the accompanying working clasps. (2 items)
