Unusual Henry Clay memorial FOB, with image of Clay and "IN MEMORY OF HENRY CLAY" on recto with "April 12th 1860 New Orleans, La." on verso. 7/8" diameter. Very good condition. Henry Clay was a visitor to New Orleans and had many connections to the city. To honor him, money was gathered after his death for a statue, and in 1860 it was placed on Canal Street at the intersection of St. Charles and Royal.
