Newspaper Grouping, authentic issues of the Daily National Intelligencer, August 7, 21, 26, and 28, 1845, each 4pp., disbound, slighly rough at spine, VG. Each issue containis detailed text on the, "Report of the Exploring Expedition to the Rocky Mountains in the year 1842 and to Oregon & North California in the year 1843-4 by Brevet Captain J. C. Fremont...". The Aug. 7 issue has lengthy prefacing text concerning the exploring expedition then begins with Fremont's report, which notes those who accompanied him including, "...Christopher Carson, the guide; and 21 men, principally Creole and Canadian voyageurs..." and takes 3 1/2 columns. The narrative carries over to the following issues with Aug. 21 having over 5 columns; Aug. 26 having 3 1/2 columns; and Aug. 28 concluding with over 3 columns.
