April 14, 1760-Dated Colonial Period, Manuscript Document Signed, “Joel Graves” with his paper Seal at right, last will and testament of Joel Graves, Province of Massachusetts Bay, Fine. This 1760-Dated French and Indian War era, last will and testament of Joel Graves of Greenfield in the County of Hampshire and Province of Massachusetts Bay, is interesting in that it also mentions his “grave” and request “to be Buried in a Christian decent manner at the discression of my Executor hereafter Named...”. Easily readable, this will was countersigned by Jon Hastings on May 13, 1760. Measuring 9.5” x 15”, this document has ancient fold damage with early paper repairs along the fold lines on the reverse and a paper tear in the left edge measuring 1.5”. Overall, this will is in collectible condition and is easily readable, being well written in deep brown ink. Docket reads: “Joel Graves Will” on the blank reverse.
