STEVENSON II, Adlai (1900-1965) was an American lawyer, politician, and diplomat, noted for his intellectual demeanor, eloquent public speaking, and promotion of progressive causes in the Democratic Party. Defeated twice for presidenty by Dwight Eisenhower, he lost the 1960 Democratic presidential nomination to John F. Kennedy. Typed Letter Signed “Adlai E. I was profoundly flattered and gratified by Mayor Daley’s suggestion, I have decided that I can be most useful where I am...” Fine condition...plus; GOLDWATER, Barry (1909-1998) was an American politician, businessman, and author who was a five-term United States Senator from Arizona (1953–65, 1969–87) and the Republican Party's nominee for President of the United States in the 1964 election.
