A complete and authentic issue of The World, New York, April 15, 1861, 8pp., disbound, VG. From the interior, "A Proclamation" running 1/2 column and signed in type by President Lincoln, in part, " ... call forth the militia of the several states of the Union to the aggregate number of 75,000 in order to suppress ..." Just below the Proclamation is a full column report "The Surrender of Sumter". A second Sumter report is on the back page running 1-1/2 columns.
