A complete and authentic issue of Harper's Weekly, New York, November 17, 1860, disbound, 16pp., VG. From page 2 the report, THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION runs 3/4 column and begins, "At least half the returns of the popular vote for President have yet to come in, and no reliable statement of the work of the 6th November can be made. It is certain, however, that Abraham Lincoln of Illinois and Hannibal Hamlin of Maine have been elected by the people President and Vice President of the United States respectively." There is a full page, horizontal image "Fort Moultrie (Sullivan's Island), Charleston South Carolina. The Federal flag is waving under the command of Major Robert Anderson. Yet, On December 26, 1860, Union Major Robert Anderson moved his garrison from Fort Moultrie to the stronger Fort Sumter.
