Mischa Richter (1910 - March 23, 2001) was an American cartoonist best known for his numerous cartoons published in The New Yorker over decades. He also contributed cartoons to Collier's, The Saturday Evening Post and This Week. An original pen/ink cartoon signed by "Richter", 13-1/2" x 17", shows Charles Lindbergh "sticking his neck" out as his admirers, including Hitler, praise him from below. Lindbergh became a supporter of the Nazi pure race concept. Building on his belief that "racial strength is vital," Lindbergh published an article in Reader's Digest stating, "That our civilization depends on a Western wall of race and arms which can hold back... the infiltration of inferior blood."
