Each issue is untrimed, never bound, and thus some minor splits or chips not affecting the strongly racial cartoon. The issues include; February 6, 1875, A two panal Nast cartoon shows the Klan shooting at two Blacks, “The Target.” And the second panal, "Little Phil’s Extinguisher.” satarizing the pushback against Negro voting. ... April 3, 1875, Another Nast two panal Nast cartoon shows President Grant holding the Civil Service baby while both Black women walk away from him, “Can a Man be a Nurse.” Then, a Black man holding the Civil Rights Bill, stands before Saint Peter asks for admission, “The Jubilee, 1875.” .. April 17, 1875, Another two panal Nast cartoon shows President Grant reading a Senate Bill. Then, a Black man holding the Civil Rights Bill, “Wainting for a Five-hundred dDllar Kick” the fine for violating the The Civil Rights Act of 1875. .. April 21, 1877, Another Nast cartoon shows a Black man being declained for a job. ..May 12, 1877, Another Nast cartoon shows Uncle Sam ignoring the problem with the Balck man and the KK man.
