Imprint, 6” x 9-1/2’, 8pp., uncut pamphlet "Confederate Leaders in the Forty-Fourth Congress. Who They Are-- Their Aims and Opinions. A Democratic Counter-Rebellion. Conquering the Union They Failed to Destroy.” Title pretty much tells it all! Attack on Southern Congressmen, claiming if they are successful in election of a Democratic President, they will, in effect, rule the country. The piece goes state-by-state of the former Confederate states and names the politicians and their former positions in the Confederacy. Believed to be an ANTI-Rutherford B. Hayes (pro-Samuel J. Tilden) 1876 campaign tract.
