.War-date concerned Northern citizen's letter, 1p. 8vo., written by a certain "F. Dodge", Harwick, [Pa.], Aug. 1, 1862 to Dr. J. M. Dale, in part: "I would like to inquire if an examination of recruits by an irregular practitioner (a quack) would be acceptable. In Chatham that has been the case. He having received authority to do so from the governor through the selectman of the town…yrs with respect, F. Dodge." Endorsed and docketed on the verso, in part: "In reply no and if you will report to me the name of the Quack I will countermand the order…". Minor soiling, else VG
