War-date Union soldier's letter, 2 1/4pp. 8vo., on patriotic stationery, written by Pvt. Thomas J. Bond, Co. G, 2nd Ohio Vols., "on board S[team] B[oat] Contisunta, May 9, [1862]," in part: "…we took boat Pittsburg Landing. After we got their we had to take a boat for Hamburg [?]…there we took a boat back to Paducah…their we will have to take the cars for Huntsville…when I was on the battleground at Pittsburg it was…rent up by cannon balls. They are looking for a fight at Corinth this morning…I met the Emma Duncan…at Paducah and saw Pap he went up to Pittsburg Landing with Lon Batcheld…T. Bond." Minor spots, else VG
