An unusual manuscript war-date Union government document, 1p. 4to., [n. d., n. p., but Hilton Head, S. C.] declaring it to be a: "List of 12 Teamsters [who] arrived pr. Oriental. Their arrival in N. York, departure from N. York and arrival at Hilton Head with amt. of wages to be paid them." Signed and made official by a civilian contractor George M. Gay who shows that these men traveled throughout the middle of the month of March, year unknown, in order to reach Hilton Head. Each of these men was due between 25.00 to 30 dollars commutation. Not your usual Civil War document since most teamsters were got from the army and not privately contracted. It seems their gib was a good job if you could get it. Minor spotting, else VG
