Not one single one for I would be in a scrape. I am going to leave this regiment on the First of May or sometime in th[at] month and I will go a[nd] see you then I will go back to my old regiment and serve out my time for I am tired of soldiering…I am going to send h[ome] the little watch I got by Adams Express. When [I] get paid I will send you 52 dollars…we aint going to be payed until the 15th of March…the paymaster is busy…paying the old veterans their bounty…so we have to wait…Mr. Elias French 119 Pennsylvania Vol. 3 brigade, First Division, 6 Corps, Company E."
