Book, 1st edition, “THE HISTORY OF THE FIFTEENTH CONNECTICUT VOLUNTEERS IN THE WAR FOR THE DEFENSE OF THE UNION, 1861-1865,” by Sheldon B. Thorpe, Lee & Adkins Company, New Haven, 1898, 362pp.. Original blue cloth with gilt lettering on spine, spine starting to crack. This regiment spent its four-year career with the IX Corps taking part in the battle of Fredericksburg, siege of Suffolk and engagements in North Carolina. Suffered heavy casualties at the battle of Kinston after which the regiment was surrounded, captured and sent to Libby Prison. Illustrations, plates, plan, ports, unit roster. Dornbusch CT-64, Nevins I-169. Very scarce.
