Regimental History Book, 1st edition, “History of the Forty-Fifth Regiment Massachusetts Volunteer Militia, ‘The Cadet Regiment’”, by Albert W. Mann, Wallace Spooner, MA., 1908, 562pp., near fine. Nevins says, "A contributory work with a natural imbalance of material; as part of the XVIII Corps, this regiment campaigned principally in North Carolina." A 9 months unit that spent 6-7 months in North Carolina at Morehead City, Whitehall, Goldsboro, Kinston, New Berne, Jonesville, Pollocksville, Tenton, etc. Loaded with photos of members and a number of camps, and areas of campaigning.
