Badge, 3/4” x 1,”, silvered brass, gorgeous art-deco, “New York 1914”, with Mercury and his winged helmet, behind the steering wheel. It was made by the New Jersey Company, Whitehead and Hoag Co. On the back is a stamped number 4882 and likely a participant’s badge which is extremely rare. The original silver patina looks beautiful and the design is most impressive.
