Silk ribbon, 3’ x 6,” with image of “Jackson Kemper, Our First Missionary Bishop”. The ribbon shows wear, particulary at the bottom. In 1835, the Episcopal Church's General Convention decided to consecrate missionary bishops to preach the Gospel west of the settled areas. Kemper was the first chosen.
