Military Commission, Signed as President, “Theodore Roosevelt”, being a commission for Walter Clifford Chidester to Assistant Surgeon with the rank of First Lieutenant, October 13, 1901. It is also signed by the Secretary of War, Elihu Root. Both he Roosevelt signature and the Root signature are strong and dark. Fine.
