Cabinet Card Photograph of Richard Speed with photgraphers ID on front mount, Bergstresser, Danville ILL. Soft vigetted chest up of a younger Speed. Richard “Dick” Speed (1867-1893) was a Special Deputy United States Marshal who, along with two other deputy U.S. marshals (Thomas Hueston and Lafayette Shadley), was shot and killed in the line of duty during the gunfight between marshals and the Doolin-Dalton Gang at Ingalls, Oklahoma Territory.
