From the interior, nearly 3 columns detailing “Estimate of the Expenditures for the Civil List of the United States, for the year 1789” signed in type by Alexander Hamilton. As example, “Secretary of the Treasury, $3500 dollars annually” ...” The military budget is also printed which shows $39,456 for the infantry, $19,662 for the Artillery .... Fascinating detail.
