Rare CDV of Abraham Lincoln, variant of O-118, taken by Alexander Gardner, February 5, 1865. Lincoln's features have been softened by Gardner, with this sitting likely the last the President sat for. Unlike other examples that come on the market from time to time, this example has Gardner's imprint on the rector and verso (Capitol Building Imprint on verso). The last example we know of coming on the market was in Heritage Auctions 2014 Civil War Auction. The Heritage example had a obtrusive round stain below the image, and no imprint on the recto of the mount. That example realized over $800.00 (lot 49382). Ths is a far superior example. A great opportunity to acquire a great Lincoln image.
