World War I Poster, 20" x 30" titled, “Remember Belgium!”, by Ellsworth Young, printed for the Fourth Liberty Loan. This poster depicts a Hun soldier complete with his notable Pickelhaube helmet, leading young children by force, as flames rage behind them from a burning village. The texts entreats us to "Remember Belgium" and to give to the Fourth Liberty Loan. The Germans took Belgium on October 9th, 1914, at the siege of Antwerp. The Germans treated the Belgians horribly and this sign asked Americans to remember their treatment, so that they may avenge it and also, more importantly, prevent it from happening to them. A fantastic poster which fits nicely into the Fourth Liberty Loan theme of showing graphic and violent images. Shrink wrapped against board, VG.
