A group of 28 letters written from March 29 to April 30, 1962 from Dean Bassett, a Vietnam soldier to his “Honey Darling” back home in St. Johnsbury, Vermont, Mrs. Bassett. These two must have been newly weds from the timbre and tone of the letters. He write that he does “love love love love you and miss miss miss miss you so very very very much.” His second paragraph always asks about their white kitten and he hopes the kitten is keeping “Honey” company while he’s away. The letters are eerily alike, talking about the weather, his love for her, how he wants her not to drive the car in the snow. He tells her to be on the lookout for a house for them to buy when he gets home but mostly he just muses about how he wants to get home within the next 10 months and resume their wedded bliss. Very endearing group of letters written every day for a month.
