Tyler writes concerning an appointment; “Mr. Spencer will send up a commission for Mr. Runton – and it becomes indespensibly necessary to appoint Brinley in place of Smith at Perth Amboy. You can give Smith any ( ) or favor you please and I will if possible fulfill them.”
