Partly-printed Document Signed “J. Hamilton” 1pp. quarto, JUne 14, 1775, being a bill for fourteen pounds nine shillings & nine pence lawful money of Pennsylvania to be paid unto Adam C. Pampheror...” James Hamilton (c.1710–1783) was appointed lieutenant governor of Pennsylvania in the fall of 1748. He resigned in Oct. 1754 but remained on the provincial council and served again as lieutenant governor from 1759 to 1763.
