A nicely engraved state of Georgia bank note with slave peddlers vignette, being a one-dollar note issued by the Bank of Greensborough, June 1, 1858, printed by Bald, Cousland & Co., New York and Philadelphia. A white farmer with his market's load stops to see what a black couple are offering for sale. Most likely, a Union soldier's souvenir note with an ink inscribed presentation on the verso: reading, in full: "From Georgia. From S. E. Ingalls to A. A. Kimball, July 6th 1862." Worthy of further research. Minor margin tears and wrinkles, else VG
