Unusual Confederate discharge, 8” x 10”, on light blue paper with paper stabilized backing, 1pp. The discharge is for H.M. Alexander who enlisted on 7/11/1861 at Winchester, VA as a Private into "C" Co. KY 1st Infantry and re-enlisted on 4/30/1862, mustered out on 5/14/1862 at Richmond, VA. “... his term of enlistment having expired and the regiment having been mustered out of service by command of the Secretary of War ...”
