War-date Autograph Letter Signed “Jos. Blyth Alston Capt. Co. B 1st Batt S.C.” 1pp quarto, Georgetown, September 11, 1863, addressed to Capt. Durham, Enrolling Officer, Marion Dist. S.C., and reads in part: “...Privates David Jones, James Tanner, Oliver Thomas, Hugh Thomas, Franklin Dees, J.R. Moore, S.R. Moore, Samuel Bailey, Maclin Calder, Wm. Calder, James Calder, Eriwn Hulon, Chast. Heast are deserters from this company...I hope that you will be able to cause them to be returned to their company or to lodge them in jail...” Very good condition.
