Rare and unusual Confedeate Document being a “Southern Telegraph” sent April 23, 1864 and transmitted in code, accompanied by period translation that reads “Scouts report that four transports with troops treturned to Newbern Thursday night. Supposed to be same which started for Plymouth no fresh reinforcements though the people in NC are expecting them daily. MD. Corse Brig Gen Comdg.” Very good condtion.
