A great war-date Union soldier's letter, 2 1/4pp. 8vo., written on Union and Constitution patriotic stationery, by Pvt. Robert A. Hubbel, Co. K, 14th New York State Vols., Arlington, [Heights, Va.], Oct. 6, 1861, reading, in part: "…we leave Arlington tomorrow…and go to our camp which…has been named Camp Mulligan…it is a more healthy location being removed from the valley running along the Potomac…our Co. has just been relieved from guard and intend starting for the regular camp tomorrow as it is too warm to go today and…is it Sunday…unless there is a great necessity for it troops do not move Sundays. I have been on duty at the fort most all night…Robert A. Hubbel." Light soiling, else VG
