A great war-date Union soldier's letter, 4pp. 8vo., written by Pvt. Robert A. Hubbel, Co. K, 14th New York State Vols., Miner's Hill, [Va.], Jan. 20, 1862, reading, in part: "…post office was robbed of about $300.00 also several pistols and cloths from privates. Sergeant Dubois had a pistol and pair of pants stolen. He was not on picket but in the tent asleep. They cut through the tent…we still lay under marching orders…it is still raining and our cam is a very muddy looking place…R. A. Hubbel." Light soiling, else VG
