Autograph Letter Signed “Mrs. Henry Clay Ford”, 2pp. octavo, Washington, January 29, and reads “I have in my possession an original programs of the play ‘American Cousin’ and I think it was found in the President box as it has stains of blood upon it. I could not swear to this, but to the best of my belief it is so. I’ve been offered $50 dollars for it. What is your offer...” Fine condition. Henry Clay Ford (1844-1915) said to be the last person to speak to John Wilkes Booth before the actor assassinated Abraham Lincoln. ...plus; Typed Letter Signed “William E. Connelley,” Kansas State Historical Society, February 7, 1927, and reads “The drop of Lincoln’s blood was given to the Society by T.D. Bancroft. We think this is genuine for we knew Mr. Bancroft for many years. He was a square, honest, honorable man. He was a soldier. We should like very much to have one of your programs but do not have the money however to purchase it.” Fine condition. (2 items)
