An extremely rare field-printed Confederate parole document,1p. oblong 12mo., use by CSA General John Hunt Morgan's command that was issued to Northern prisoner, Dr. S. C. D. Brock (1822-?) who had the great misfortunate to be picked up "captured" by part of Morgan's command on July 15, 1863. The parole, reads, in part: "I…S. C. D. Brock , Prisoner of War, captured near Rockhill, Belmont Co., Ohio by John Morgan's Command, hereby give my Parole of Honor, not to bear arms against the Confederate States…until regularly exchanged…I will not divulge anything relative to the position…of any of the forces of the Confederate States…". Signed by Confederate Capt. Jones, as witness, and Dr. Brock. This is the first we have seen of this type of document and it would be worthy of research to determine which unit Capt. Jones belonged to. Folds, else VG
