(1812-1894) was a politician and soldier from the state of Illinois who served as a general in the Union Army during the American Civil War. War-date Union Document Signed “E.S. Dennis” twice as Brigadier General, and by Confederate General Jackson, 1pp. quarto, Gainesville, Alabama, May 14, 1865, being a parole for William A. Pope, 2nd Lieutenant, 12th Mississippi Cavalry. Fine condition.
